Life is such an exciting
and interesting journey when you know, that you know. that you know,
that all things work together for good! Wow! OK, I am going to try
to catch you up. I am in Maryland, and I arrived Monday night in a
rental car. I am staying with a friends, same one I stayed with
after my operation. It is a blessing for her, as her husband is in
the hospital and she likes the company. It is a blessing for him, so
he doesn't have to worry about her, so God is glorified and it surely
is a blessing for me, and all is well.
OK, here's the deal so
far.
Thursday, April 12th:
When I last blogged I was on my way to the RV repair shop to beat
the rain. I did, and arrived 5 minutes before it closed and they
were able to assess it enough to know that it had to be put inside
before it stormed the next day. They allowed me to stay in their
parking lot for the night and the plan was for them to duct tape and
plastic it up, so I could drive it in the rain and take it to
Murfreesboro, TN, near Nashville, (2 hours away) so I could see my
best friend's daughter and granddaughter & family, then drive it
back after the weekend. They said they couldn't get to it to do the
repairs until the insurance adjuster came, and they weren't sure when
that would be.
OK, meanwhile, I decided
to rent a car and drive the rental car to Nashville and on to
Maryland and wait there for them to repair the RV, then drive back to
Tennessee after it was repaired. Good idea, except that the closest
Enterprize rental car place was in Murfreesboro.
God is so good, Gail came
to pick me up, I stayed the night with her, we had a Vegan dinner and
a nice visit. I planned to see her daughter and family the next day,
but something came up and we decided to plan it, when I came back to
pick up the RV.
The next morning I was
picked up at her house by Enterprize Rental Car, Co. in the car I was
going to drive, a Toyota Corolla) so I could load my stuff right from
Gail's car to the rental car. went to the office and signed the
papers that were, already arranged and paid by the insurance Co., and
I was on my way, still ahead of the storm. It was a serious storm,
with heavy rain, flooding, strong winds and thunder & lightening.
I was able to stay ahead of it until I got to Petersburg, VA and it
passed by in the night, after I was tucked into the Motel and I
hardly even heard it. God is so GOOD!
The whole drive was great,
I enjoyed figuring out the car. IT HAD RADAR! It wouldn't let me
get to close to the car ahead of me, it would slow itself down and
show me when I was too close to the yellow line. Etc... Cool stuff!
Spring is wonderful! The trees were beginning to bloom, and
everything is so green, great mountains and valleys in the land where
Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone and my Great Great Grandfather(William
Larkins) hung out.
William Larkins was a
circuit riding Preacher in these parts, near the West V irginia,
Tennessee, Virginia border. He left there and traveled to Somerset,
PA, got married, kept traveling West to Ohio, Indiana and Iowa. By
that time he had 20 children and left Iowa with 19 of them and their
families and 20 covered wagons (leaving the oldest son and his family
in Iowa). They nearly starved to death and ended up with only three
wagons after eating the oxen that were pulling the other wagons.
They arrived in 1858 (before Oregon was even a territory) and
received one of the first 600 acre Land Grants in Molalla, Oregon/
That is where my Mom was born and that story is for the next book.
I stayed the first night
in Wythville, VA.(near the
Tennessee border). I had a good night's sleep and left about
noon, drove down into North Carolina and back to Virginia,(the
shortest route),.

Stopped
for the night, in Petersburg, VA. at a Motel, after a 7 hour drive
from Wytheville, Virginia . It was a good trip, I listened to the
streaming live and some youtube messages of my church (www.fthcm.org)
always life changing.

I
drove to Fredricksburg, VA. And had lunch with long time friends at
their beautiful house on Lake Anna. They live in Florida now but
came back to put the lake house on the market. I wanted to see them
before they went back to Fla. (Want to buy a house on the lake,
beautiful view, in a gated community, with all the amenities, boat
dock and all?)
After
lunch, I drove on to Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Even though I am at
home in my Motor Home anywhere I am, this area still feels like home
and my husband's family and my Church is my home base, here in
Maryland.
Tuesday,
April 17th
I
took my friend to see her husband in the hospital, went to sign my
taxes so they could be sent in, and then we went to Bible Study. It
surprised a lot of the Church Members because they didn't think I
would be back this early. It was wonderful to get so many hugs and
love.

Today
I stayed in and checked my mail that I received from my adopted
family, who's address I use. Just so you know how it works, All of
my mail comes to their house here is Maryland, and they open it,
throw out the junk (Praise the Lord), take pictures of the important
mail and send it to me by text. I then handle it on line or by
phone. It works great and they have not had to re-mail anything to
me yet!
I
got a call from my insurance guy, THEY ARE TOTALLING MY MOTOR
HOME!!!!I don't know the amount they are settling for yet, but these
are my options:
- Take the money they offer which will be $16,500 or less, and try to find another RV.
- Keep the RV, get someone to repair it (my go-to-RV-guy, said he could fix it) and take a lesser amount.
Please
pray for me as I wait to see how things play out. I am anticipating
a wonderful outcome, perfect for me and what God has planned for me.
